With the addition of mixed seeds this ground bait mix is comparable to, and even more nutritionally balanced than that prescribed by international standards. Having a balanced ratio of amino acids, proteins, carbohydrates, saturated fats, minerals, and vitamins this ground bait mix will benefit all bottom feeding fish. It is also completely biodegradable. If our suggested mixing methods are followed and the same ground bait-to-water ratio applied to ground bait anglers may currently use, the results in terms of volume, dissolving properties (“blusbaarheid”), and cost effectiveness may come as a big (and pleasant) surprise. Mixing Methods 1) 2 Parts Carp Protein X mixed with 1 part water will form a stiff bait ball within minutes. 2) 3 Parts Carp Protein X mixed with 2 parts water will form a softer bait ball after a short resting period. Note: Our favourite mixture consists of 5 parts Carp Protein X and 3 parts water with a 15 – 20 minute resting period. As Carp Protein X has no ‘memory’, water can be added to the ground bait or alternatively the ground bait to the water. Whilst many South African ground bait mixtures do not freeze well, Carp Protein X freezes exceptionally well! Batches may be prepared in advance, bagged and frozen for later use. If kept in a cooler it can be returned to the freezer and frozen again. Height above sea level and water hardness may affect the prepared ground bait mixture. However all anglers will be able to compensate for these differences. Water temperature will not affect ground bait results. Carp Protein X ground bait will also yield excellent results for Pole and Boilie Angling. Hint: If ground bait becomes dry, wet hands and mix until desired consistency is obtained.
